Mallorca Pale Ale
The beer that started the FORASTERA story. Balanced and aromatic.
Polar Pale Ale is a craft beer brewed in Alaró, Mallorca, with Serra de Tramuntana water and Spanish and German hops. Fruity, balanced and made for the hottest days on the island.
The short answer is simple: because Mallorca is hot.
When this beer was born, we wanted to brew a Pale Ale that felt especially refreshing for the long summers on the island. And as often happens at FORASTERA, a slightly absurd idea became the final name.
If it were any more refreshing, you would have to serve it at the North Pole. That is how Polar Pale Ale was born.
What started as a joke became one of the easiest-drinking beers in the brewery. The polar bear under the palm trees still reminds us not to take everything too seriously.
Polar Pale Ale was born at a time when not everything needed a complicated style label.
It is fruity, aromatic and very easy to drink. Enough hop character for hop lovers, but without aggression, excessive bitterness or that rough sensation some people know as hop burn.
In the early years we used Citra, one of the most famous hops in the world. Over time we introduced Spanish and German varieties and discovered that we liked the result better: more balance, more elegance, more beer.

Fruity, smooth and refreshing. Hop aroma, gentle body and an easy finish without excessive bitterness or roughness.
It is not a hop bomb. It is a balanced, fruity and clean Pale Ale made for the climate of Mallorca.
It may remind you of some modern NEIPAs, but it was not born to follow a trend. It is a FORASTERA Pale Ale: fruity, clear in intention and easy to enjoy.

Polar Pale Ale was born as a contrast to the hot summers of Mallorca. If it were any more refreshing, you would have to serve it at the North Pole.
Its fruity profile and smoothness may remind you of modern New England IPA, but we still consider it a good Pale Ale: fruity, refreshing and easy to drink.
It is fruity, smooth and refreshing, with hop aroma, gentle body and a very easy finish.
In the first years Polar Pale Ale was brewed with Citra. Later we started working with Spanish and German varieties and discovered that we preferred the result: more balance and elegance.
Hop burn is a rough or slightly spicy sensation that can appear in extremely hop-loaded beers. In Polar Pale Ale we look for the opposite: pleasant aroma, balance and another sip.
