The story of FORASTERA
In the winter of 2012, Sven broke his ankle. It stopped him from working normally as co-founder of the Berlin microbrewery Hops & Barley, but in reality he could hardly have picked a better moment.
It was Christmas, the air was full of consumer madness, it was freezing outside and everyone was hiding at home. Those small details — plus the fact that Marta was away and could not say “no” — convinced Sven to buy himself a homebrewing kit.
Believing that you only learn by doing, Sven discovered the brewing process step by step and quickly realised he had a feel for it. Batch after batch, the ideas became clearer. That line of beers became the starting point for FORASTERA.
