Before your visit

Your visit to FORASTERA in Alaró

Practical answers for anyone planning to visit our brewery, taproom or a beer tasting in the heart of Mallorca.

Where is FORASTERA Craft Beer Mallorca located?

FORASTERA Craft Beer Mallorca is at Av. Constitución 34, 07340 Alaró, Mallorca. The brewery and taproom are in the same place, inside a real working craft brewery at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana.

Can I simply visit the brewery?

Yes. You can visit the taproom during opening hours, drink fresh craft beer, eat, try MEM Kombucha and experience the brewery atmosphere. We recommend booking in advance for beer tastings, groups or special visits.

How much time should I allow for a visit?

For one beer, 30 to 45 minutes is often enough. A beer tasting lasts about one hour. Allow more time if you want food or a longer taproom visit.

Is FORASTERA suitable for families?

Yes, families are welcome. We are a working brewery with a taproom, and the atmosphere is relaxed and local. Children should still be supervised, especially when it is busy.

Do I need a reservation?

Not always for a normal taproom visit. Tastings may be possible spontaneously during opening hours if capacity is available. Please book groups, fixed tasting times or events in advance via WhatsApp.

What can I do in Alaró before visiting FORASTERA?

Is FORASTERA a good stop after hiking to Castell d’Alaró?

Craft Beer Mallorca Guide

Understanding craft beer in Mallorca

Answers for visitors looking for genuine craft beer in Mallorca — and for anyone who wants to understand what makes independent brewing different.

What is craft beer?

Craft beer is brewed with greater attention to recipe, ingredients, fermentation and flavour than standardised industrial beer. At FORASTERA, craft beer means small batches, local identity, fresh beer and independence instead of mass-market uniformity.

What is the difference between craft beer and industrial beer?

Industrial beer is usually designed for uniformity, large volumes and broad neutrality. Craft beer can be more expressive: malt body, hop aroma, yeast character, bitterness, freshness and seasonal differences are part of the experience.

Why does an IPA taste different from a lager?

An IPA usually puts hop aroma and bitterness further forward, while a lager often feels cleaner, leaner and more restrained. The difference comes from the recipe, yeast, fermentation, temperature and the role of hops in the beer.

Is there a craft beer scene in Mallorca?

Yes, although it is still small compared with other European regions. That is exactly why visiting a real local brewery is worthwhile: you see the people, tanks, beers and ideas behind the island’s independent beer culture.

Where can I drink craft beer in Mallorca?

You can drink fresh FORASTERA craft beer directly in our brewery taproom in Alaró. Craft beer is also available at selected bars, restaurants and events around the island, but the most direct route remains the brewery itself.

Unsere Beers

FORASTERA beer styles

A short guide to our core beers and seasonal styles. Every beer has its own character, not an interchangeable label story.

Which beer styles does FORASTERA brew?

We brew styles including Pale Ale, Pilsner, IPA, Lager, Amber Ale, wheat beer and seasonal beers. See the full overview on our FORASTERA beer page.

What is Mallorca Pale Ale?

Mallorca Pale Ale is one of our signature beers: drinkable, aromatic and conceived as an island Pale Ale that suits the Mediterranean climate without becoming boring.

What is Sa Roqueta Pilsner?

Sa Roqueta is our Pilsner: clean, fresh and brewed for people who respect simplicity when it is done properly. It does not hide behind intensity but lives through balance and freshness.

What is Another Fucking IPA?

Another Fucking IPA is our direct answer to the endless world of IPAs: hoppy, clear and unapologetic, yet still brewed so you want to drink it rather than only talk about it.

Can I take FORASTERA beer away?

Yes, depending on availability. You can normally buy beer directly at the brewery and taproom in Alaró. Please contact us in advance for larger quantities, events or kegs.

Events, kegs and beer taps

FORASTERA for events in Mallorca

Can I rent a beer tap from FORASTERA?

Yes. Subject to availability, we rent a professional two-tap system with 20, 30 and 50 litre kegs for fincas, villas, weddings and private parties in Mallorca. Find more details on our beer tap rental Mallorca page.

Can I order FORASTERA kegs for an event?

Yes, depending on availability, production and date. Tell us the location, date, number of guests and type of event so we can recommend the right beer and quantity.

What types of events do you serve?

The beer tap is suitable for weddings, fincas, villas, birthdays and private parties. Delivery, setup, dismantling and personal instructions are possible subject to availability.

Can FORASTERA make beer with a custom label?

Yes. We can rebrand an existing FORASTERA beer or develop a dedicated recipe for hotels, restaurants, weddings, companies and brands. Minimum quantities depend on the project.

What is the difference between rebranding and a dedicated recipe?

Rebranding uses an existing beer and adapts its name, label and visual identity. A dedicated recipe requires development, planning and a larger minimum production. Either route can make sense depending on budget and objective.

MEM Kombucha

Kombucha, sourdough and fermentation

FORASTERA lives through fermentation: beer, kombucha, sourdough bread and the craft of turning simple ingredients into something alive.

Does FORASTERA also make kombucha?

Yes. We produce MEM Kombucha as part of the same fermentation culture that shapes our brewery. It is artisan, refreshing and available in the taproom depending on availability.

Is MEM Kombucha an alternative to beer?

MEM Kombucha is a fermented alternative for guests who do not want beer. Availability may vary, so ask in the taproom or contact us in advance.

Why does a brewery make kombucha?

Because beer and kombucha share a deeper idea: fermentation. Both need patience, ingredients, balance and living cultures. For us, kombucha is not a by-product; it belongs to the same artisan world.

What does sourdough bread have to do with the brewery?

Sourdough bread is another expression of fermentation. In our taproom world, beer, kombucha and sourdough belong together: simple ingredients, time, craft and flavour.

From the brewery

Why FORASTERA is different

Not everything can be explained through beer styles and opening hours. Some things come from attitude, independence and the decision to brew on this island.

Why does FORASTERA brew beer in Alaró?

Alaró gives FORASTERA a place with character: local life, mountains, people who know each other and a slower rhythm than the coast. Brewing here connects the beer to inland Mallorca, not only to tourism.

What does being an independent brewery mean to FORASTERA?

It means Marta and Sven are personally responsible for the family-run brewery. FORASTERA brews with 100% organic malt, hops from León and water from the Serra de Tramuntana. We brew, serve and explain our beer directly where it is made.

What makes FORASTERA different from a normal bar?

FORASTERA is a working brewery with a taproom. You are not simply drinking beer from an anonymous supplier, but beer in the place where it was brewed, with the people and story behind it nearby.

Why should I include FORASTERA in a Mallorca visit?

Because Mallorca is more than beaches and resorts. FORASTERA offers a local, independent and flavourful way to experience the island: craft beer from Alaró, served where it is brewed.
